Maison Martin Margiela（メゾン マルタン マルジェラ）の1996年春夏（1996SSコレクション）の「トロンプルイユ（Trompe-l'œil / 騙し絵）」千鳥格子フォトプリントパンツです。マルタン・マルジェラ本人が手掛けていた初期の代表的なコレクションピース。千鳥格子（ハウンドトゥース）柄の織物やヴィンテージテクスチャーの写真をコットン地に精巧に転写プリント（フォトプリント/スクリーンプリント）しており、平面の布の上に立体的な柄や質感・陰影があるかのように錯覚させる「トロンプルイユ（騙し絵）」の手法が用いられています。フランス製（MADE IN FRANCE）表記、初期の白タグ（カレンダータグ導入以前の初期仕様）を備えた、マルジェラファッション史に残る非常に希少なアーカイヴピースです。
