This piece, profoundly embodying Kiko Kostadinov's philosophy of post-minimalism and the reinterpretation of workwear, was born from his Fall/Winter 2018 collection, themed 'Obscured by Clouds'. The collection's context begins with an homage to the industrial landscapes and worker uniforms of Bulgaria, where the designer spent his childhood, and is rooted in the design intent of fusing utilitarian function with a unique philosophical perspective and structural cutting. The Gaetan Trousers, while retaining a classic workwear feel, assert a calculated, three-dimensional silhouette distinct from their sampling origins, achieved through precise patterning from the waist to the hip and unique darting/paneling at the back knee. What truly sets this item apart is its premium wool and nylon blend material. The deep, matte tone and soft hand-feel of the wool are fortified by the nylon blend, adding a crisp structure and durability, balancing the elegant drape with an essential toughness when worn.
